Volunteer Opportunities

There are so many ways to support Camp as a volunteer, with opportunities to work directly with children and families at Camp or through other outreach programs, as well as opportunities at events or in our office.  Learn more about onsite residential opportunities or regional day opportunities in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Hampshire, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Family Pals

We still have a limited number of spots in our Rare Disease Family Camp (Thursday 5/31 - Sunday 6/3). Though this is considered our last Spring Family Weekend, it is also very much a kick off to Summer at Camp. Summer Program

Cabin Counselor

Our Summer Program offers our campers an opportunity to make friends, try new things, and experience all that summer camp has to offer. As a Volunteer Cabin Counselor, you are assigned to a cabin for the week and able to share in the experience. Alongside our amazing crew of full and summer staff, you will help supervise your campers, take them around Camp throughout the daily schedule, and have fun! Medical Team 

Currently looking for additional volunteers for Sessions 1, 2, and 3. Medical Volunteers work alongside our Medical Staff to provide routine and acute care to our campers. We need licensed physicians, nurses, and nurse practitioners, both specialists and general medicine practitioners who can share their medical/clinical expertise with us to create a safe and fun environment.  Pediatric experience is preferred. We guarantee this will be a life-changing experience, just as it is for the children who attend Camp. Hero's Journey

Our Hero's Journey Program offers our 16-year-old campers an opportunity to gain independence, develop new skills, and bond with fellow participants in a wilderness setting. As a Hero's Journey Counselor, you will spend a week in the woods, help our full and summer staff facilitate program elements, and have fun! Fall Weekend Programs

Family Pals

Our Family Weekends offer our campers an opportunity to bring their siblings, parents, and caregivers to Camp. Together, they get a chance to bond, unwind, and experience all that Camp has to offer. As a Volunteer Family Pal, you are assigned to a family for the weekend and able to share in the experience. Program Pals

Program Pals are members of our "Weekend Program Team". The team is assembled each year in August and September. Members attend a training and are assigned to facilitate activities throughout our Fall Family Weekends and the Spring Family Weekends of the following year. Check back on July 1st to begin registering.

Hero's Quest Pals

Each Fall, our Hero's Journey team runs three "Hero's Quest" weekends. They offer our 16-year-old campers an opportunity to spend a weekend at Camp, experiencing programming that is similar to what we provide during our Summer Hero's Journey sessions. The Hero's Journey Program teaches self-reliance, positive communication and teamwork through a variety of exciting challenges. The journey provides participants with opportunities to step outside comfort zones, discover more about themselves and become “the hero of their own story.” Returning volunteers -  Check back on July 1st to begin registering.

July 22 - Jimmy Fund Picnic - Dedham

Volunteer with the Hospital Outreach Program (HOP) at their craft tent at the Jimmy Fund hosted event. We will be assisting children with various craft projects! Volunteers must have previous experience at either Camp's Summer/Weekend Program or attended an Outreach Orientation. August 8 & 9 - Camp Days - Boston

Volunteer with Hospital Outreach Program (HOP) staff to provide fun-filled afternoons of Camp activities in the Patient Entertainment Center of Boston Children's Hospital! This event is themed "HOP Around Boston" giving patients and families a chance to embrace the city and some of its major attractions despite being in the hospital and potentially unable to physically see them! Development Event Support

June 20-24 -  Travelers Golf Championship - Cromwell

Camp is one of the charity beneficiaries of the Travelers Championship, come help in the family-friendly tent in the FanZone doing art activities or be a Hole Marshal on Hole 7 alongside Camp staff! Full and half day opportunities for the FanZone and Hole Marshals are available each day. There are volunteer opportunities are for ages 14 and older.
