Volunteer Opportunities

There are so many ways to support Camp as a volunteer, with opportunities to work directly with children and families at Camp or through other outreach programs, as well as opportunities at events or in our office.  Learn more about onsite residential opportunities or regional day opportunities in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Hampshire, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Spring Weekend Programs

Family Pals

Our Family Weekends offer our campers an opportunity to bring their siblings, parents, and caregivers to Camp. Together, they get a chance to bond, unwind, and experience all that Camp has to offer. As a Volunteer Family Pal, you are assigned to a family for the weekend and able to share in the experience. Alongside our amazing crew of returning volunteers, you will work to get to know your family, show them around Camp, and to see that their weekend is as fun and fulfilling as possible. New volunteers - Click here to apply through our online portal (first time users must click "not a member")We will begin processing applications and contacting applicants for interviews in early December.  Returning volunteers -  Click here to register through our online portal.

Medical Team

Medical Volunteers work alongside our Medical Staff to provide routine and acute care to our campers. We need licensed physicians, nurses, and nurse practitioners, both specialists and general medicine practitioners who can share their medical/clinical expertise with us to create a safe and fun environment.  Pediatric experience is preferred. Program Pals

Program Pals are members of our "Weekend Program Team". The team is assembled each year in August and September. Members attend a training and are assigned to facilitate activities throughout our Fall Family Weekends and the Spring Family Weekends of the following year. Summer Program

Cabin Counselor

Our Summer Program offers our campers an opportunity to make friends, try new things, and experience all that summer camp has to offer. As a Volunteer Cabin Counselor, you are assigned to a cabin for the week and able to share in the experience. Hero's Journey

Our Hero's Journey Program offers our 16-year-old campers an opportunity to gain independence, develop new skills, and bond with fellow participants in a wilderness setting. February 20 (noon-3:30pm) - Slime Day - Boston Children's Hospital - Boston, MA

Volunteer with the Hospital Outreach Program (HOP) to assist children and families to enjoy an afternoon of Slime themed activities in the Patient Entertainment Center at Boston Children's Hospital. Volunteers must have previous experience at either Camp's Summer/Weekend Program, attended an Outreach Orientation or be a current Boston Children's volunteer with badge. March 14 (5-9pm) - CampOut Campfire (Woodshop) - West Roxbury, MA

April 17 (12:30-4pm) - Bob Ross Day - Boston, MA

Volunteer with the Hospital Outreach Program (HOP) to assist children and families to enjoy an afternoon of painting and ExTREEme Bob Ross themed activities in the Patient Entertainment Center at Boston Children's Hospital (no art ability required, just your sense of humor)! Volunteers must have previous experience at either the Summer/Weekend Program, attended an Outreach Orientation or be a current Boston Children's volunteer. Development Event Support

April 6 (4:30-8:30pm) - Beantown Bash - Boston, MA

Support The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp at the 25th Annual Beantown Bash as we transform Boston Children’s Museum into a spring spectacular! This fundraising benefit will feature fun for the whole family including live entertainment, exhibits, arts & crafts, a dinner buffet and more! Volunteers will assist with welcoming and directing guests, distributing program books, monitoring the silent auction and exhibits and facilitating arts & crafts. This event is open to volunteers who are 18 years of age and older. April 14 & 15 - Boston Marathon - Boston, MA

Each year, people from all over the country gather to run the Boston Marathon as a fundraiser for Camp. Come help support these awesome runners! Volunteer opportunities include hosting a pre-race dinner and cheering on runners at a rockin' cheer zone! Opportunities for all ages! Parent & Caregiver Volunteer Events

February 20, March 25, April 18, May 19th - Parent Project Days - Ashford, CT

Parent Project Days are a great way for parents and caregivers to spend time on Camp hanging out together while also helping our community. The May work day is scheduled on a Sunday and is a full afternoon of preparing Camp for our upcoming summer sessions! Come for a few hours or for the whole day. Please note, these events are for adult parent & caregivers of current or former campers only. We need an exciting team of Camp volunteers to join us for a CampOut picnic at the Elmwood Park Zoo! We need you all to help us facilitate activities, guide families throughout the zoo and during our animal meet & greet, and promote Camp spirit and camaraderie amongst our Philadelpia families.
