Volunteer Opportunities

There are so many ways to support Camp as a volunteer, with opportunities to work directly with children and families at Camp or through other outreach programs, as well as opportunities at events or in our office.  Learn more about onsite residential opportunities or regional day opportunities in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Hampshire, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Onsite Residential Opportunities

Summer Program

Cabin Counselor

Our Summer Program offers our campers an opportunity to make friends, try new things, and experience all that summer camp has to offer. As a Volunteer Cabin Counselor, you are assigned to a cabin for the week and able to share in the experience. Alongside our amazing crew of full and summer staff, you will help supervise your campers, take them around Camp throughout the daily schedule, and have fun! Medical Team 

Currently looking for additional volunteers for Sessions 1, 2, and 3. Medical Volunteers work alongside our Medical Staff to provide routine and acute care to our campers. We need licensed physicians, nurses, and nurse practitioners, both specialists and general medicine practitioners who can share their medical/clinical expertise with us to create a safe and fun environment.  Pediatric experience is preferred. We guarantee this will be a life-changing experience, just as it is for the children who attend Camp. Hero's Journey

Our Hero's Journey Program offers our 16-year-old campers an opportunity to gain independence, develop new skills, and bond with fellow participants in a wilderness setting. As a Hero's Journey Counselor, you will spend a week in the woods, help our full and summer staff facilitate program elements, and have fun! Fall Weekend Programs

Family Pals

Our Family Weekends offer our campers an opportunity to bring their siblings, parents, and caregivers to Camp. Together, they get a chance to bond, unwind, and experience all that Camp has to offer. As a Volunteer Family Pal, you are assigned to a family for the weekend and able to share in the experience. Program Pals

Program Pals are members of our "Weekend Program Team". The team is assembled each year in August and September. Members attend a training and are assigned to facilitate activities throughout our Fall Family Weekends and the Spring Family Weekends of the following year. Hero's Quest Pals

Each Fall, our Hero's Journey team runs three "Hero's Quest" weekends. They offer our 16-year-old campers an opportunity to spend a weekend at Camp, experiencing programming that is similar to what we provide during our Summer Hero's Journey sessions. The Hero's Journey Program teaches self-reliance, positive communication and teamwork through a variety of exciting challenges. Volunteer with the CampOut team to provide a fun afternoon of crafts and a movie with campers while their parents attend Parent Programming. October 27 - CampOut Fall Ball - Hartford, CT

Volunteer with the CampOut program to make this the best Fall Ball these campers/families have ever seen! We are looking for help with welcoming families, DJ hype team, arts and crafts, game tables and of course a photo booth! There are also volunteer opportunities for prep support in the days leading up to the event for Aetna employees. Volunteers for Fall Ball must have previous experience at either Camp's Summer/Weekend Program, attended an Outreach Orientation or be an Aetna employee. Development Event Support

September 15 - Camp Challenge - Ashford, CT

Support Camp Challenge Ride and Grit 'N Wit Adventure Race FUNraisers! This event will include a 30 mile fully supported bike ride with rest stops, a 5K run/walk and a 2.5 mile adventure course around Camp that will test participant's brains and brawn. Volunteers will assist in a variety of ways to support the event operations from registration and rest stop support, to obstacle monitoring and cheering! This event has volunteer opportunities for all ages!
