The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp is dedicated to providing “a different kind of healing” to seriously ill children and their families, free of charge. We are a community that celebrates the spirit of childhood, the sound of laughter and the feeling of endless possibility.
The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp was founded in 1988 by Paul Newman to give every child – no matter their illness – the chance to “raise a little hell.” Including our summer Camp in Ashford, Conn, we run 9 programs that serve more than 20,000 kids and family members throughout the Northeast each year.
There’s no way to measure smiles, but our research and evaluation team works to ensure the safety and happiness of our campers, the smartest use of our funding, and positive outcomes from our programs.
Camp is a place of endless possibility – and our staff works hard to keep it that way! Meet the people who come together to make a difference in the lives of thousands of children with serious illnesses.
Michael is one of only 300 people worldwide with Cardiofaciocutaneous syndrome and family time is often spent shuttling to doctor appointments and therapy. At Hole in the Wall's Rare Disease Family Camp, his entire family was able to relax and have fun while surrounded by other families who understand the challenges they face. Watch how memories made at Camp provide them with joy and hope in the latest "Healing Feeling" story.
