Camp Challenge

Saturday, May 16, 2026

On May 15 and 16, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp welcomed supporters, walkers and runners to its Ashford, Connecticut campus for another unforgettable Camp Challenge weekend. Under sunny spring skies and surrounded by Camp magic, participants came together with energy and enthusiasm to celebrate and support Camp’s year-round programs.

On Friday evening, Cabin Circle teams brought excitement and buzz, filling the Dining Hall and Cabins with laughter, camaraderie and memorable moments around campfires. Eleven teams got an overnight taste of the Camp experience, including former Campers and families, staff, summer staff, long-time corporate partners, volunteer groups and many other friends.

Saturday featured live music, cheering and high-energy fun from start to finish. More than 260 participants of all ages took part in the 5K, the 6-Hour Trail Run and event festivities, while volunteers and supporters helped spread the joy that makes Camp Challenge so special. Alumni camper and longtime Camp Challenge volunteer Ayla, of Team Ayla’s Dancing Queens, celebrated her 30th birthday during the event, with her friends and family raising more than $30,000 to honor this milestone and Alya’s Camp journey. Before the 5K, Ayla inspired participants with her personal story that started with her brain cancer diagnosis at a young age. She reminded participants of the impact of their philanthropy, sharing how attending The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp changed her life.

Guests enjoyed delicious food and refreshments from the Dining Hall, while connecting with one another and taking in the scenic beauty of Camp. From Camp activities and lawn games to creative costumes, giveaways and high-fives, the Camp spirit was felt all day long. Collectively, teams and individual participants rallied together raising more than $93,000!
