Who Can Attend

Camper eligibility for Connecticut Family Camps (Spring / Fall)

Families with a child(ren) between the ages of 5-15 who is affected by a serious illness that Camp is serving for that weekend.  Families attend with their child.

Qualifying medical diagnosis of:

  • Factor X Deficiency
  • Fanconi's Amenia
  • Hemophilia
  • Hereditary Elliptocytosis (HE)
  • Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP)
  • Sickle Cell Disease
  • Thalassemia
  • Thrombocytosis
  • Von Willebrand Disease (VWD)
• Cancer
  • Ewing Sarcoma
  • Leukemia (AML, ALL)
  • Lymphoma
  • Myelofibrosis
  • Nephroblastoma
  • Neuroblastoma
  • Osteosarcoma
  • Rhabdomyosarcoma
  • Wilms Tumor
  • Other cancers
• Immunologic Disorders
  • Common Variable Immune Deficiency (CVID)
  • Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EOE)
  • Histiocytosis
  • HIV/AIDS
  • Primary Immunodeficiency: Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH)
  • Primary Immunodeficiency: IgG Subclass Deficiency/Hypogammaglobinemia
  • Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID)
• Metabolic/Mitochondrial Disorders
  • Glycogen Storage Disease
  • Lysosomal storage (ie., Hurler Syndrome, Gaucher Disease)
  • Mitochondrial Disease (ie., MELAS)
  • Ornithine Transcarbamylase Deficiency (OTC Deficiency)
  • Phenylketonuria (PKU)
  • Pyruvate Kinase Dificiency
  • Tyrosinemia
  • Very-long-chain acyl-CoA Dehydrogenase Deficiency (VLCAD)
• Neurofibromatosis
  • NF 1
  • NF 2
  • Schwannomatosis
• Solid Organ & Multivisceral Transplant: Campers must be at least 1-year post-transplant
  • Kidney Transplant
  • Liver Transplant
  • Multivisceral Transplantation (MVT)
• Other Rare Diseases (Please contact admissions@holeinthewallgang.org to confirm eligibility for rare diseases)

Note: Participation in a Family Camp does not make a camper eligible for summer sessions. Please see our list of eligible diagnosis for summer sessions.
