Connecticut Runners Gear up to help Seriously Ill Children
New Haven, Conn. – April 12, 2012 – Dorian Kail doesn’t just love running. She loves kids – and it shows. On Monday, April 23 at 7pm, she will be on hand at the Westport Library, 20 Jesup Road in Westport, Conn. to help runners and would-be runners get connected with one of Connecticut’s premier running events – the Fairfield Road Race. Voted the “Race of the Month” by Runner’s World Magazine, the Fairfield Road Race features both half-marathon and 5K running options through beautiful, scenic Fairfield County back roads, and culminates in live music on Jennings Beach, Fairfield.
Dorian Kail is one of Team Hole in the Wall’s Connecticut-based Trainers and is the Team Captain for The Fairfield Road Race. Team Hole in the Wall is the grassroots, fundraising program and online community of The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp founded by Paul Newman. Team members participate in athletic events or create and host events of their own in support of the Camp. Dorian is a generous supporter of The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp and recently helped launch Team Hole in the Wall’s Kids for Camp with the King’s Highway Elementary School’s annual talent show benefiting the Camp. Dorian has already recruited runners for the Fairfield Road Race, including a dozen King’s Highway teachers.
In addition to Dorian, the Fairfield Road Race Kick-off will feature additional Team trainers, staff and Team members participating in the 2012 Fairfield Road Race. Attendees will hear more about The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp founded by Paul Newman and how the runners’ support helps the children who attend. Refreshments will be provided by Newman’s Own. Those interested in attending are asked to sign up ahead by visiting www.woovite.com/teamfairfield. Hosted by the Fairfield Firefighters, the Fairfield Road Race will be held on June 23 and 24, 2012.
