Maryland Location
Nestled along the shore of the Wye River, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp’s new location begins programming in May 2026. From the newly renovated infirmary to the welcoming entrance of the River House, participants experience Camp magic with programming that features a range of classic camp activities and region-specific fun designed to provide healing, connection and joy to the ‘hole’ family.

Family Camps
Bringing the healing power of Camp to the entire family, Family Camps provide a safe, inclusive environment for families to make memories and find a community of support while enjoying a range of Camp activities.

Make Camp Magic in Maryland
Each year, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp brings joy, hope and friendship to children and families across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. Thanks to your generosity, all programs are offered free of charge. We are so grateful for your support as we continue to do everything we can to bring “a different kind of healing” to those we serve.

Queenstown History/Future
Hole in the Wall is grateful to the Aspen Institute for donating its historic Wye River conference center, an idyllic setting to provide hope and healing to children and families in the Mid-Atlantic. More than 50,000 square feet of buildings have been renovated to provide a welcoming atmosphere to children and families facing serious illnesses along with state-of-the-art medical care.
Beginning in May 2026, our first year of programming in Queenstown includes eight Family Camps that will serve families of children with rare and ultra-rare diseases, as well as groups currently served at our Connecticut Location. This is just the beginning of what's to come for our community in the Mid-Atlantic. In the years ahead, we will build out an entirely new campus on the property, where campers can enjoy programming independent of their families. Programming will take highlights and learnings from nearly 40 years of experience in Connecticut and mix it with the magic of Maryland.
These incredible steps forward are a testament to our Founder Paul Newman's vision and innovative spirit. In 1988, he founded The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp in Connecticut so that children facing serious illnesses could just be kids and, in his words, “raise a little hell.” Over the years, Hole in the Wall's programs have grown and now provide healing and joy to thousands of children and their family members all year long, and always free of charge. These programs happen not only at our Connecticut Location but in hospitals, homes and regional events across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. We are excited to continue bringing “a different kind of healing” to more children and families for years to come.
