Leader in Training
The Leader in Training (LIT) Program is an opportunity for former campers age 17-19. Participants in the LIT Program come back to Camp and participate in group leadership workshops and receive one-on-one mentoring while also having the opportunity to practice these skills by working alongside counselors and campers in our summer Camp program.
I had the opportunity to be an LIT and LIT 2, which although greatly different from attending as a camper, was an incredible experience. I learned how much work goes into making camp such a magical place, but it was also one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done. Knowing that younger campers could look up to me as an influence regardless of my illness was so powerful, and gave me the energy and motivation to dance around the dining hall or yell our unit’s cheers just a little louder.

There are two stages of the LIT program – LIT I and LIT II. Participants must complete LIT I before they apply for LIT II.
