Paul Newman’s Camp Launches New Public Service Announcement

New Campaign Celebrates The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp’s 25th Anniversary

NEW HAVEN, CONN., AUG 13, 2012 –The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp today announced the release of a new public service announcement (PSA). The 30-second spot shares the mission of the Camp to provide “a different kind of healing” to thousands of seriously ill children across the Northeast - all free of charge.

The new PSA is a part of a broader public service campaign to spotlight the Camp’s successful programs as it celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2012-2013.  Grey New York created the ad and serves as the pro-bono communications agency.

The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp PSA will run on television in the Northeast and can be accessed via YouTube (http://youtu.be/iuYbxqDPf-Q?hd=1), Vimeo (http://vimeo.com/thitwgc/2011psa) and on the Camp’s website (http://www.holeinthewallgang.org/page.aspx?pid=1224). Contact Willow Ann Sirch, Director of Communications, for a broadcast-ready copy of The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp PSA.

“This new PSA represents a milestone in how The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp communicates its mission and we are very pleased about the opportunity it affords us to share the values that our founder Paul Newman held most dear,” said Chief Executive Officer James Canton. “It is our hope that others will be inspired by this campaign and help spread the ‘healingFEELING’ of The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp.”

Founded in 1988 by Paul Newman, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp is a community dedicated to providing “a different kind of healing” to children and their families coping with cancer, sickle cell anemia and other serious illnesses. Through summer sessions and family weekend programs at the Camp in Ashford, Connecticut, and year-round outreach to hospitals and clinics throughout the Northeast, the Camp serves more than 20,000 children and family members annually. All services are free of charge.
