Not-So-Snooty Beer, Wine and Cheese Tasting to Benefit Paul Newman’s Camp
Windsor Locks, Connecticut – October 13, 2011 – Guests at the Not-So-Snooty Beer, Wine and Cheese Tasting Adventure, sponsored by JetBlue Airways, will sample locally produced beer, wine and cheese, while supporting seriously ill children at The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp founded by Paul Newman more than 20 years ago.
The Not-So-Snooty Beer, Wine and Cheese Tasting Adventure features delicious drinks, hors d’oeuvres, coffee and dessert, live music and a raffle featuring an outstanding lineup of gifts and giveaways including JetBlue tickets. This popular event takes place on Friday, November 18, amid the historic airplanes of yesteryear on display at the New England Air Museum at 36 Perimeter Road in Windsor Locks, Conn. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.
The event is hosted by Bradley Family Day, an organization made up of individuals working in and around Bradley International Airport who have dedicated themselves to raising funds in support of the Camp and its mission of serving children with cancer, sickle cell anemia and other serious illnesses. Guests will enjoy locally produced beverages and cheese from the region’s best artisan brewers, vintners and cheese makers, all while supporting some of the most deserving kids on the planet.
“This evening is all about Connecticut,” said Event Co-chair Kathy Maznicki. “It’s about locally produced beer and wine. It’s about cheese made right here in our home state. It’s also about a special place in Connecticut that helps children and families coping with more than anyone ever should have to.”
“I’ve been to The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp and seen firsthand how its programs help bring joy and a sense of empowerment to kids with illnesses like cancer, sickle cell anemia and HIV/AIDS,” said Event Co-chair Deb Donahue. “Being able to enjoy the Camp’s programs gives these youngsters something to look forward to through all the challenges of living with a serious illness. We are thrilled to be able to support the Camp and its programs.”

About The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp
Founded in Ashford, Connecticut by Paul Newman more than 20 years ago, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp serves more than 17,500 children annually. At the Camp, children with cancer, sickle cell anemia, HIV/AIDS, hemophilia and other serious illnesses find healing and camaraderie. As one Hole in the Wall camper puts it, “I love it here. Sometimes you think being so sick gives you limits, but the Camp lets you try anything.” In addition to its signature summer camp program, the Camp offers weekend programs for campers and families, and an outreach program to children in hospitals and other sites across the Northeast. All of the Camp’s services are provided free of charge.
