Alec Baldwin Elected to Camp's Board of Directors

New Haven, CT - October 25, 2011 - The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp recently elected Alec Baldwin to its Board of Directors, celebrating the actor's nearly 20-year commitment to the Connecticut-based Camp's mission of bringing hope and healing to seriously ill children.

"Over the years, Alec Baldwin has demonstrated a profound loyalty and friendship to the Camp that we are thrilled to now formalize with him being named to our Board," said Chief Executive Officer James Canton. "As we prepare to celebrate our 25th anniversary in 2012, we are thrilled to have someone with Alec's passionate advocacy and brilliant creative artistry working with Camp's leadership to ensure the lasting vibrancy of Paul Newman's vision."

An award-winning actor and current star of NBC's 30 Rock, Baldwin's friendship to the Camp has taken many forms over the years including as a performer at the Camp's Fandango Benefit Gala and narrator of promotional videos. Most recently, Baldwin served as the celebrity auctioneer at the Camp's September Gala, which raised more than $1.5 million for the Camp's on- and off-site programs in Connecticut and throughout the Northeast.

"Every visit to The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp over the years has had a profound impact on me because I've seen how the transformational spirit of Camp allows children coping with the unthinkable to do the unbelievable," said Baldwin. "Paul Newman and the amazing Joanne Woodward along with Camp's other founders created something truly special that allows a different kind of healing to occur. Camp is all about raising spirits while, as Paul said, raising a little hell and I'm excited at the opportunity to do my part as a hell-raiser and board member.”
