Hilary Axtmayer

Chief Program Officer

Hilary Axtmayer has been involved with The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp since 2001. She worked as a counselor in the summer program for several summers before joining the year-round staff in 2006. Hilary was the Assistant Camp Director and most recently served as the Executive Camp Director for five years before becoming the Chief Program Officer in 2019.

In addition to her work at The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, Hilary worked with Family Health International in Tanzania and as a field consultant helping to set up camp programs in Botswana and Lesotho with SeriousFun Children's Network.

Hilary graduated from Bates College with a B.A. in psychology. She went on to receive a master’s in global health sciences from Oxford University and a master’s degree in social work from Columbia University.
