The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, founded by Paul Newman, is a nonprofit, year-round center serving more than 25,000 children and families coping with chronic and life threatening illnesses, all completely free of charge. Camp’s goal is to ensure that every child with a serious medical condition has the chance to experience the world of possibilities that Camp has to offer. It’s a community that celebrates the fun, friendship and spirit of childhood where, according to Mr. Newman, every kid can “raise a little hell”.

Position Description

This is a new position and is at the forefront of our growth into this region. The position supervises assigned regional team of Hospital Outreach Specialists under the umbrella of our Hospital Outreach Program (HOP). Supports and strengthens Camp's relationships with participating medical facilities. Acts as a member of the HOP leadership team to advance the Camp's mission.

Our Hospital Outreach Regional Manager can expect to...

  • Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and mentor Hospital Outreach Specialists in assigned region.
  • Coordinate development and delivery of HOP programs and activities throughout the region, encouraging idea sharing and ensuring consistent representation of Camp philosophy.
  • Plan and implement orientation for all new HOP Specialists, including review of HOP trainings, shadowing, introductions and tours of assigned medical facilities, and other training as needed.
  • Coordinate all credentialing and required paperwork for new employees.
  • Supervise and communicate regularly with HOP Specialists.
  • Meet and communicate regularly with HOP Director, collaborating in development, implementation, and tracking of programs to support the mission.
  • Serve as primary liaison with assigned medical facilities, ensuring that they see HOP as a valuable adjunct to their services.
  • Engage HOP team in management of administrative functions including, but not limited to: scheduling, volunteer coordination, paperwork coordination, event preparation and facilitation, etc.
  • In conjunction with the Director of Research and Evaluation, implement measurement tools to evaluate program success and stakeholder satisfaction for all Camp programs. Create and implement changes to further improve and grow programs.
  • In conjunction with the HOP Director, develop and manage regional budget.
  • Engage in public relations and outreach to medical facilities in region, providing information about HOP services and developing relationships and opportunities to expand the understanding of the program.
  • In conjunction with the HOP Director, schedule and maintain consistent meetings with regional wellness consultants and regional team.

Our Hospital Outreach Regional Manager should have...

  • Experience with or an understanding of considerations that surround working with children dealing with chronic or life-threatening illness.
  • Creative arts/teaching experience is desireable.
  • The ability to establish positive relationships with a variety of people in multicultural environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Suite, data maintenance and statistics, and adaptable digital skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills; written and verbal communications skills to diverse internal/external stakeholders, including reports, written communications, and presentations to key audiences.
  • Willingness and ability to demonstrate activities.
  • Willingness and ability to ensure transport of approximately 40 pounds of supplies to service delivery sites, using cart or other means.
  • Willingness and ability to attend additional Hole in the Wall events.
  • Willingness and ability to complete pre-employment medical requirements of assigned hospitals, which may include physical exam and immunizations.
  • A valid Driver's license and driving record which meets our insurance carrier requirements.
  • Willingess and ability bility to travel to regional worksites and organization meetings.
  • Full vaccination against COVID-19.
