Organization Description
Founded in 1988 by Paul Newman, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp provides “a different kind of healing” to more than 20,000 seriously ill children and family members annually - all completely free of charge. For many of these children and families, Hole in the Wall provides multiple Camp experiences throughout the year at the facility in Ashford, Conn., in more than 40 hospitals and clinics, directly in camper homes and communities, and through other outreach activities across the Northeast and mid-Atlantic.
Position Description
Under the supervision of the Chief Development Officer (CDO), the Development Assistant provides administrative support of strategies aimed at increasing resources raised to support organizational goals.
Our Development Executive Assistant can expect to...
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding privileged and personal information.
- Provide administrative support to the CDO, including budget tracking, expense reporting, invoice/contract routing and processing, as well as database input and reporting.
- Maintain the CDO's Outlook calendar, including coordination of meetings, travel, and other meetings with donors and staff.
- Maintain electronic files for the CDO.
- Support portfolio management and meeting needs for the CDO (and CEO as needed).
- Assist the CDO with the coordination and execution of development leadership meetings.
- Set dates and submit materials for development and campaign committees.
- Serve as point of entry for communication and coordination between the CDO, CEO, and campaign-related interdepartmental and volunteer work groups.
- As directed, provide assistance for the fundraising activities of volunteer campaign solicitors by providing record-keeping, and other administrative support for their prospect identification, cultivation, and solicitation efforts.
- Request reports, and compile information to aid the CDO as needed.
- Systemize and support charity rating sites: timeline, contacts, data needs, narratives, updates.
- Support the development department's work plan - platform comparison and maintenance.
- Assist the CDO on special projects as assigned.
Our Development Executive Assistant should have...
- Customer service experience highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with PowerPoint, and databases a plus. Comfortable with learning new software.
- Demonstrated ability to retrieve, analyze, and synthesize information gathered from varied sources.
- Ability to establish positive relationships with a variety of people in multicultural environments.
- Organized and efficient work style, capable of managing multiple projects with competing priorities to the highest standards in a timely manner while remaining flexible and having fun.
- Accurate and impeccable attention to detail.
- Comfort working with high level executives, volunteers, and donors.
- Comfort with routinely shifting demands.
- Proactive "self-starter" approach, but also with an ability to work well on a team.
- Strong commitment to seriously children and their families.
- Willingness and ability to operate computer for most of workday with appropriate rest periods.
- Comfort with periodic travel, predominately within Connecticut.
- Full vaccination against COVID-19, plus booster that meets current medical requirements.
