Statement from The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp CEO James Canton about the fire at Camp

We are saddened to share that there was a fire at The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp this evening. We are extremely grateful that it appears nobody was injured, but can confirm that our Arts & Crafts, Woodshop, Cooking Zone and Camp Store buildings were all destroyed. We deeply appreciate the quick response of the local fire departments and Connecticut State Police Troop C. Although the cause of the fire is unknown at this time, what is known is that The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp is a community devoted to hope and healing. We will get through this in the way that we always have and always will – as a family.

Notification of Blackbaud Data Breach

The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp was notified by Blackbaud, Inc., a service provider that hosts our donor database, that they discovered and stopped a ransomware attack that culminated in May 2020. According to Blackbaud, prior to locking the cybercriminal out, a copy of a subset of data was removed from their servers, which prompted Blackbaud to pay the cybercriminal’s demand with confirmation that the copied data was destroyed. Although Blackbaud assured affected organizations that encrypted data such as bank and credit card information were not accessed during this attack, it is possible that other donor data such as contact and demographic information as well as details of relationships to Camp – including gift dates and amounts – may have been exposed.
