Parent/Family Support Programs

Parent Receptions on Session Opening Days

Parent-run receptions help other parents who are taking their children to the Camp for the first time. It is a chance for parents to connect and support each other during this transition time.

COPE Great Escape and Parent Reunion Weekends

COPE (Change Of Pace Experience) is designed to give parents of our campers the opportunity to become renewed, revitalized, and reinspired as they gather with their peers in a restful setting. Since COPE is intended to be a program organized by parents for parents, COPE alumni facilitate the weekends' activities, serve as hosts, and are instrumental in planning and shaping the agenda for each program. Two of the parent mini escapes (reunions) are held at Camp while the other COPE programs take place at off-site locations. Over 1,100 parents have participated in COPE and parent reunion weekends. Like all Hole in the Wall Gang Camp-sponsored programs they are offered to the parents free of charge.

Parent Work Days

Two times during the year parents of our campers join together to work at the Camp on various projects that may include planting a garden, fall and spring cleanups or special projects. Parents have always had a strong connection to the Camp This program uses their positive energy and provides them the opportunity to “give back” to the Camp.

Family Weekends

About 100-120 Camp family members attend special weekends for cancer, sickle cell anemia and hemophilia through the year. These weekends are both recreational and educational and take place at the Camp.
